This beautiful little flower is called a Spring Beauty. This Missouri native flower is usually found in open woods, fields and valleys statewide. As you can see these flowers have very distinct pink veining on white and sometimes pink petals making them very easy to spot on a walk outdoors. While out, you might also notice some Bluebells as well. Bluebells grow on wooded hillsides and bottomlands in Missouri. These pretty little spring blooming species are a great nectar source for our pollinators.
